Quote of the Week – PERSISTENCE “You've got to have the persistence and hard work to overcome all the early obstacles. People don't generally notice whether you're talented until after you've made it”. Neil Diamond
Inspiration of
the Week – "I'm not competing with you. I don't have to have as
big a house as my neighbor to feel good about myself. I don't have to keep up
with my co-worker. I don't have to be a certain size. No, I understand that I'm
not in competition with my friend, my neighbor or my co-worker. Instead, I'm
going to be the best me that I can possibly be." – Joel Osteen

The Steven McCormick Scholarship to the Blair School of Music and Deanna Walker’s Monday Night Songwriter class details will be announced next week. Nashville Muse and Music Starts Here.org will be asking you to send in 10 sentences or less of a nomination of someone to receive the scholarship to attend the Monday night class – which brings in hit songwriters and publishers to Blair School of Music every Monday night at 7:00 for the semester. This is one of the best investments you can make in your songwriting journey. Steven McCormick was a gifted guitarist, musician, songwriter and performer whose life was cut short at the age of 21 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. His mother and stepfather, Jeannie and Roger Hughes, are sponsoring a scholarship recipient for the fall semester at Blair School of Music in honor of Steven's life. Steven was a 2006 graduate of Hurricane High School in Hurricane, West Virginia and attended Marshall University as a music major. He lived in Milton, West Virginia where he worked as an electrician while pursuing his dream of songwriting. This scholarship is given in honor of Steven's life and his love of music. He leaves behind a family who adored him and grieve for the absence of a truly gifted musician whose songs will never be heard. ****
