dave-isaacs  Nashville “guitar guru” Dave Isaacs’ Guitar Circle classes have been an ongoing series since the fall of 2013. The Guitar Circle is billed as “a group class for  strummers” and is designed to build skill and experience through playing familiar songs together as a group.

“Most people who pick up the guitar do hit a wall at some point” says Isaacs. “When that happens, starting to play with others is a great way to break through that block. It forces you to put your existing skills to work in a way that makes you a better musician, and ultimately that’s what makes you improve as a guitarist”.

Classes have been meeting steadily on Monday nights, with the next section scheduled to start on May 11th and run through mid-June. This time, Isaacs is offering a second, concurrent class on Thursday nights starting May 14th. The parallel class opens up an opportunity for people who can’t commit to Monday nights, and also allows for scheduling flexibility when conflicts arise. Students registered for either section can attend the other to make up a missed class, offering even more opportunities to play.

Classes will meet Mondays, May 11-June 15 from 6:30-8 PM (except Memorial Day, May 25th), and Thursdays, May 14th-June 11th from 7-8:30 PM. The fee is $150 for 5 class sessions. To register or to request more information, email dave@daveisaacs.com.

These session musicians have to be well versed in many genres and instruments, because they may be playing in the studio with Alice Cooper one day and Barbara Streisand the next

WHO reads the Nashville Muse among the 3,300+ subscribers?

Tony Arata – Hall of Fame Songwriter “The Dance”, “Here I Am”.  Saw two great shows at 12th and Porter and the Station Inn this week – both of which that I might have missed were it not for info in the Nashville Muse.
Thank you for your good work on behalf of songwriters, musicians and artists here in our hometown.

Byron Hill,  multi #1 hits and 700+ cuts – “Fool Hearted Memory”, “Born Country”.  The Nashville Muse is a great go-to information source for that quick snapshot of upcoming songwriter events.

Joie Scott #1 and Emmy Nominated songwriter. “Not That Different”, “Shoes” I think the Nashville Muse and Special Deliveries are invaluable when it comes to knowing what’s happening in Nashville. I love the fact that I can find info on everything from the music scene … to where to get my car fixed.   Thank you Doak Turner for putting the city at our fingertips and doing what you do best … helping people!

Pat Alger, Hall Of Fame Songwriter, “The Thunder Rolls”, “Small Town Saturday Night”  Doak Turner’s a good guy with a really good idea. Nashville Muse is the number one way to find out what’s happening musically in Nashville.

Bud Tower, songs cut by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Jr. owner of WikiRymer.com  The Nashville Muse: The place I go to find out what’s happenin’ in Nashville—who’s playin’ their own songs, and when and where. Love it!

Kent Blazy, “Ain’t Going Down Till The Sun Comes Up”, “Gettin’ You Home” (Black Dress Song) and other great songs.  Doak is a valuable asset to the Nashville music community. When folks who have just hit town ask me who or what they should check out I mention Nashville Songwriters  Assoc,BMI,ASCAP & NASHVILLE MUSE.All those things will give them  information that will assist their grasp of what Nashville is about.Thru Doak’s site folks can meet other folks, find out where music is,and learn the ropes of The Row.It’s a great networking tool no matter where you are in your career. I always let Doak know when my band is playing because i know a lot of folks will find out about it thru THE Nashville MUSE. Doak also does a lot of behind the scene things that assist our community,he’s too modest to mention those things. Thanks Doak for all you do & being you…kent

Dave Isaacs – Guitar Teacher and touring artist The Nashville Muse is an essential resource for our songwriting community.

Ralph Murphy, ASCAP and songwriter “Seeds”, “Half The Way” - I travel a lot, so it’s important for me to know what’s going on in Nashville. The Nashville Muse always keeps me in “the loop” so that I always am in the know as to events and opportunities to network and celebrate with my fellow Music Business lunatics!! Many thanks Doak for going the “extra mile” for us all. Best, ralph murphy

Benita Hill, songwriter, “It Was Your Song”, “Two Pina Coladas”, “Take the Keys To My Heart” I’ve known Doak Turner since he first came to Nashville and he has always been a supportive friend, personally, and for the entire Nashville songwriting and music community. He is really one for those people who loves to help others. The Nashville Muse is a valuable source of information, networking and connection. Yay, Doak!
